Street, Fashion, and More

Ferguson College (FC Road):

Steets Of FC Road

FC Road is an out and out student’s place. Just as the name suggests FC Road is named after the famous and historical Ferguson College. Highly populated by the college going teenage crowd, FC road is brimming with activity. FC road is a long street that stretches from one end to another. However for the Indian Shopaholic, this street is not only about a long tiresome walk but is one magical ride through the world of street fashion.
FC Road has excellent options for street shopping. It sells everything, from earrings, bangles, anklets to clothes, tops, jeans and umbrellas. One street shop that I highly recommend is one right opposite to Goodluck Café .This place is a good place to buy shorts and tops from. However you really need to dig in to find the right colour, right size and the right fit (Phew!! And trust me; it does take a long time)
Another must visit place is the Honkong Market. This market has everything you could possibly imagine. It is popular among students for shopping items like shoes, imported items, watches, makeup, accessories etc. Items bought could range anything between Rs 10 –200.
Food to Die for- Vaishali
FC and Food:  This is one hell of a place to eat from.  Eating joints like Goodluck Café, Kareem’s, Vaishali, Roopali, Chaitanya etc are highly famous. Trust me after a long day of shopping; eating a scrumptious meal is an affordable luxury.

The Ultimate Fashion Destination!!

Koregaon Park:

Koregaon Park also called K.P, is the most elite area in Pune. It’s frequented by foreigners and expats who are followers of Osho. Koregaon Park has the best of both worlds. This place strikes the right balance between street shopping for the masses and mall shopping for the classes.
From a zillion places to shop from in Koregaon Park, I shall introduce the shopaholic to the most popular places. These places are highly populated by both, the Indians and the expats.
Mall shopping:  This is one mall you must visit. It is called Jewel Square mall, and it definitely lives up to its christened name. This mall is a swanky looking mall and is a house to the most popular fashion brands in the world. Various brands like Pramod, Mango, Converse, and Tommy Hilfiger are available at highly discounted prices during the sale season. The seasonal sale at the mall saw many takers as brands like Mango were up for sale discounts upto 70% and Converse had a flat 50% off on its stock.
Street Shopping:  This is where the essence of Koregaon Park lies. Koregaon Park is renowned world wide for the Osho Ashram. The one can see a line of street shops selling the traditional attire for the followers of Osho Rajneesh. Solid maroon in colour, these gowns look authentic and stylish at the same time. Also the Koregaon park area is divided into lanes namely- LANE  A,B,C,D,E,F AND LANE 1,2,3,4,5.
On either sides of these lanes one gets to see the streets brimming with activity. The streets hawkers sell the specialty of Pune – Osho Slippers.  Available in various colours and sizes these slippers are available for flat Rs 50. PS: No bargaining allowed. Koregaon Park also has other little shops that sell antiques, artwork and semi precious stones.
Thus Koregaon Park is the ultimate exclusive shopping destination. But if you have noticed my previous blogs, shopping is incomplete without eating out. Koregaon Park has a multitude of eating joints to tingle those taste buds. I cannot resist but take a few favourite names: The Burger Barn, Subway, Sheeshas, ABC farms to name a few. Moreover it is sinful to forget the greatest places to party are right her in KP. One Lounge, Hard Rock Café, High Spirits, Hidden Place are the most famous places to party.

So all you girls on the block, throw those boring- last season clothes out of the closet, cuz I am sure you know where to head to !!!
